Better late then never - Interior Department’s Tribal co-stewardship. It is a start! [1]

I would love it if, when I file my annual Federal taxes, I could elect to either pay a portion to the Interior Department’s tribal co-stewardship, such funds to be used to either:

Maintain existing lands;

Or to secure additional lands that must be turned over to native tribal management.

Such funding would have to be on top of any funds budgeted. I am sick of seeing, for example, budgeted funding of education lowered/offset when lottery winnings are included. Education does not end up with any additional funding as was originally sold to voters when lotteries were first proposed.

If we can not do this via our annual tax preparation how about making such contributions deductible but without having to exceed any deductibles (i.e. allow me to take the standard deduction plus any contributions towards tribal land ownership reclamation)?
