After having a few too many drinks Marge Taylor Greene proposed a national divorce. A fair settlement would need to reflect what each party contributed to the marriage. Since Marge and people like her have contributed nothing constructive to our country, they can have one state. Let’s say Florida. They don’t need to worry about sea level rise because climate change isn’t real. After all of the reasonable people currently residing in Florida are allowed to leave, they can build the biggest most tremendous wall across their northern border. Everyone can carry an AR-15. The kids in schools will never have their feelings hurt by learning about our history of slavery and its legacy. No taxes. Trump can be their forever President. Companies can be totally unregulated and dump whatever pollution they choose into the rivers. After a couple of years it will be a complete hellscape and most will want to flee north. But that damn wall — no one can get out! So the thriving Blue America will allow them to apply for asylum here and accept some to resettle here each year, as we have done for generations, accepting refugees from failed states around the world. Because that is who we are.
