News reporter shot dead at the scene of a homicide investigation [1]

A news crew for Spectrum News 13, a popular television news channel serving Central Florida, came to the scene of a homicide investigation in Pine Hills, Florida, located just west of Orlando; the said homicide involved the death of a woman in her 20s.

But things took a turbulent turn, as multiple people were shot. During the shooting, a reporter and a 9-year-old girl were killed, whilst a photographer and the 9-year-old’s mother are in critical condition. According to Orange County Sheriff John Mina, the reporter and photographer were in or near a vehicle that was not marked as a news car. 19-year-old Keith Melvin Moses is detained for both shooting events that occurred today. The motivation for the shooting involving the news crew remains undetermined.

"At 19, [Keith Melvin Moses] has a lengthy criminal history, to include gun charges, aggravated battery and assault with a deadly weapon, burglary and grand theft charges," [John Mina] continued. Deputies were at the scene investigating the 11:17 a.m. discovery of a woman who had been shot to death in the 6100 block of Hialeah Street. "So, the suspect is not saying much right now," Mina said. "It is unclear if he knew they were news media or not. We're still trying to work all that out." The motivations of the shooting are still being determined, he said. "It's unclear why exactly they were targeted, and certainly we're going to look into that," Mina said.
