(With a nod to Cameron Prof) Another Shared Nostalgia Diary [1]

Reading Cameron Prof’s diary today, it occurred to me that these exercises in nostalgia are not only amusing but unifying. After our recent DK Holy War, I wanted to first give props to CP for throwing this out there, whether it was part of your motivation or not. I further wondered what it would look like if a whole slew of us insisted on adding our own similar diaries to a purely fun subject rather than a controversial one.

So here’s one I’ve used as an icebreaker in groups before . . . What was your first concert?

Mine was Oingo Boingo at Cal Expo in Sacramento. I was the summer I was 16, and I went with a couple of friends and a couple of our older brothers who were home from college. Wall of Voodoo was supposed to open, but my brother and I were stoked to hear as we waited in line to get in that X would be opening that night. Seen a lot of shows since then, but few that matched it that double bill.

I’d love to hear from anyone else who wants to share on this one!
