#2 and hiked north east to the cypress stand. There, I found the Wood Ducks were selecting nesting trees to raise chicks. I couldn’t get video because the trees are so dense. Besides the single male Wood Duck, I watched an Eastern Phoebe hunting the waters edge.These are the best shots I could get of that busy, hungry bird. I watched 6 Least Terns making the rapid and dynamic dives (they are known for) for their morning meal before I headed back to the truck. Sorry folks, no film of that action but if you have seen it live, the memory will linger within you. I heard the screech of an Osprey when I reached the truck.
