I went to the Support Ukraine event today in San Francisco and wanted to share a few thoughts and some pictures. First, it was attended by what I guess to be 500-1,000 people. There was a mixture of Ukrainian and English spoken. Two ministers from Ukrainian Greek Orthodox churches were present, as was a State Senator, and a variety of organizations. I’ve been to a number of rallies, and this was definitely the first which included requests for Abrams tanks and F-16 fighters.

I also picked up a Ukrainian flag for $20 and they gave me one for free. I’d like to give it away to someone on Daily Kos so if you have any ideas regarding how that should be done, please leave a comment. The flag is a simple 3’ by 5’ flag of a light material with grommets.

A little surreal with a small drone flying overhead. I kept thinking about what that would mean in Ukraine right now.
