Morning Open Thread. Birds of February. [1]

Not having thought of anything to write about (I’m working on it, I’m working on it) I’ve decided to just do a recap of my bird photos from this month of February. Hope you like hawks, because that’s most of what I’ve got. Even though the species repeat, they are, at least, from various locations around American Valley (Quincy, CA).

Sigh. I’m just going to give up on hoping for decent Bird In Flight (BIF) photos. My camera won’t do it.

And sometimes even when they’re sitting still I get less than favored results.

But when they’re closer, and for the most part sitting still, I usually do all right.

Ferruginous Hawk

And this one’s banded!

First time ever for spotting a Ferruginous Hawk that’s been banded. Regrettably, there’s no way I can read it so I can’t report it.
