I hope everyone is having a pleasant day.

Morning Open Thread is a daily, copyrighted post from a host of editors and guest writers. We support our community, invite and share ideas, and encourage thoughtful, respectful dialogue in an open forum.

We’re under another Winter Weather Advisory for tonight and tomorrow. This time, however, we’re the ones who are in for the ice storm. About two tenths of an inch of ice is in our forecast. Also 35 mph wind gusts. Possible trees down and power outages. I hope none of mine fall and flatten my house. They’re also saying the Monday morning commute may prove difficult. You think so, NWS guys?

It’s going to switch to heavy rain later when temps warm above freezing. With our old snowpack and frozen ground that’s going to mean flooding.

I got my car cleared of snow yesterday but I’ve still got a lot more to move. I have to dig out a little channel beside my car yet for the rain water to flow away. Else my car alarm goes off. It’s done that in the past when the water rose too high under one wheel. My car is such a crybaby.

On another note, after the recent spate of vanity poo fights—and I think you know what I’m talking about—I can use a little of this tune. The song didn’t have anything to do with the Virgin Mary. Mary was the name of Paul’s mother. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do.
