Markos, I have been here very damned near since the beginning.

You through this platform give not just me a voice, you give all the people I care about a voice, like my Black husband who only knows about this site through the articles I send him. Or, most importantly right now, the voice you are giving to Ukraine.

All I care about is represented across this community. Without the writers who have inspired so many of us, this beautiful community would wither on the vine.

I have met you, Markos, and I believe more than once. I have met people who have shared profound thoughts both on the front page and off. We are talking about ideas and calls to action that have and can change the world.

I am not sure what is going on here due to the lack of transparency, but I can tell you one thing: it would be a tragedy to lose any of the front pagers through so-called "attrition" or any other means. We as progressives are better than that. Our purpose is more valuable than that.

I implore you to find a solution that cuts no writers and at a minimum tells us in full detail why you feel the need to and what we can do to help. This is my FIRST source of news and has been for about two decades. I subscribe to multiple other papers because y'all link to them. You don't understand how important this place is to me not just as a source of news but as a community.

Please don't break it. 😢
