Big Day for Renewable Electricity Generation [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.', 'Backgroundurl Avatar_Large', 'Nickname', 'Joined', 'Created_At', 'Story Count', 'N_Stories', 'Comment Count', 'N_Comments', 'Popular Tags'] Date: 2023-02-27 The past few weeks have been amazing for wind turbine generation. This is one particular day’s totals for the various regions. For this day wind supplied well over half of the electricity for the Central and Texas regions! There have been several other days that are close to this. These charts are for the entire 24 hour calendar day of Feb 6, 2023. The EIA market regions are shown here. And here is the generation mix for the last 14 days. One notable this is the relationship between wind and natural gas generation. When wind generation rises then natural gas generation falls. Another is that the solar generation routinely rises above hydroelectric generation — in February. All information is from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA.gov).
