Of course I cannot even hold a candle to this master wordsmith, but I hope to be present when his tour rolls into the Ball Arena this Thursday evening for what may be his final tour with the E Street band. He has lost multiple members over these last few years, including Clarence “The Big Man” Clemons. I would wax rhapsodic about my favorite artist of all time = the music, the stories he tells, the important place he holds in American music history, his collaborations with so many other artists, his politics, but I’m somewhat limited. Not by space, by time, or any of those things, but by a temporary disability, of the kind a nearly 60 year old should know better than doing. Last Wednesday I was filling my birdfeeders while it was snowing and to reach the one for niger seeds, I usually walk along the top of a low wall. Since snow and ice had built up over the month I was gone, it was uneven and I lost my balance. I tried to fall and land on my feet, but while doing so, my left hand hit the railing on the way down and I broke off the end of my radius (the larger of the two bones of the lower arm. There is now an angular piece floating somewhat freely about half an inch from where it should be. My procedure to return it to its rightful resting place is tomorrow morning at 6am. WE are all hoping a minimally invasive procedure can put the bone into place and then be secured with a single pin/screw. Otherwise they may have to be intrusive which will be more work, chance of complications and recovery time. However this happens, I will not be able to drive to the concert and I may have a complicated process of getting there. I expect to be hobbled for 6-8 weeks. Anyone want to trade a ride for me for a ticket? I can get a ride back up. I am typing with one hand and a single finger from my left hand so I’m going to invite you to look at the Colorado diaries — Boobert’s restaurant will now be a restaurant for those who enjoy immigrant food from South of the Border, and Denver area hospice4homeless, and one other that I had missed about how despicable the Club Q shooter was. My fingers are starting to get sore, so Ill turn this over to you. The floor is yours...
