Over the past year or two, she has been more open to non-conservative ideals and elaborates upon this through her writing. Rubin's opinion in today's WaPo is very congruent to my thinking. Rubin uses a recent PRRI.org census as her source. PRRI is a well respected polling organization that covers religion and politics more than any other subject matter in their work. Rubin uses a recent PRRI.org census as her source. PRRI is a well respected polling organization that covers religion and politics more than any other subject matter in their work. The census is spot on with my anecdotal research and formed opinion on fragile white evangelists and organized religion. The fastest group in decline is white protestant evangelicals. Many MAGA's fall into this category, thus they feel that they are victims. If they are victims, it is of their own making. The fastest growing religion in the US is "no religion". 20 somethings are leading in this category. Rubin writes: Not many 20-year-olds (part of the most diverse, inclusive generation in history, one steeped in climate science and tech) would leap at the prospect of living in a state where abortion is unattainable, gays are ostracized and secularism is bashed. Throughout history, belief in religion and the supernatural is predicated on hate and fear in order to control the population. Sometimes their instruments are torture and death. Just look at the history of the Catholic church. I know...nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition. Yet we have states like Texas, Florida, and others who are trying to control minds and bodies through inflammatory legislation and penalties. They might as well be medieval religious clerics. Hell, my uber conservative christian nationalist father told me that working class cities with so many spires were equivalent to control centers. He also said during the 70's that the white population of the US would become a minority. That scared the hell out of him. I generally disagreed with most of the crap that he spewed but every now and then, he came close to making sense.
