We are cowards. Hard truth but truth regardless.



We accept the role of slaves at every turn. We allow what was theoretically impossible to accept yesterday to become the normal today. We look for solace in a christianity that enslaves us in the very system of our oppression. We look for narcissistic deflection in New Age nonsense. . We refuse to make our own choices and snivel at the “unfairness of it all”.



Our institutions do not represent us yet we continue to swear obedience rather than confront their lack of legitimacy. We decry the crimes and destruction of legal fictions while pretending real people in real time play no part.



We fear the responsibilities of Citizenship and abrogate any sense of common purpose. We are comfortable as victims and dread contemplating otherwise.



We allow our children to be slaughtered in schools were attendance is mandatory We do nothing Nothing And try to blame others

We allow Citizens of all ages to go hungry, to live unhoused, to be denied access to medical care Not because we lack resources but because we are afraid to do otherwise lest we are forced into their ranks

We pretend to be “free” even as we are forced to live in generational poverty and under structural inequities designed to insure we can never be free.



We allow all these things and more because we are afraid.



In a less cowardly society there would be no weapons of war on our streets. If our institutions and elected leaders failed to protect our children Citizens would do it themselves - nonviolently but with undeniable determination. We do nothig



We cower before our self identified elites and their christofascist thugs despite the fact there are far more among the oppressed than among the oppressors

We watch as our homes, towns, cities and the entire biosphere is being systematically destroyed We do nothing

We are afraid but worse We Are Cowards

Cowards because it doesn't have to be this way We allow it We choose it

The Spartans famously noted Persians were made slaves because they never learned the syllable “No"

We don't even have that for an excuse

We have no excuse

We are just cowards
