April 4 Makes or Breaks democracy [1]

The April 4 election decides how quickly we sink into single-party control. Yes, one election is the slim margin between “no exceptions abortion/no health rights for women” or a Supreme Court Justice who supports women’s rights.

The candidates are at opposite poles about extreme gerrymandering. Under Republican control, Wisconsin has dramatically dropped to the bottom of the rankings on gerrymandered voting maps, according to the New York Times and academic studies.

Likewise, voter suppression is extreme in Wisconsin. Attacking our large, diverse cities (BIPOC voters) to attacking the voting rights of voters with disabilities is relentless.

One vote cast differently on the Wisconsin State Supreme Court would have changed the outcome of the 2022 presidential election here. This video is blunt, and energizing and Mehdi Hassan (MSNBC) is compelling. What happens on April 4 affects democracy hanging by a thread.

One candidate was actively involved in the “big lie”; paid by the party seeking to overturn the 2022 Presidential election. That candidate was involved in the fake electors' scam. Very busy undermining our progressive, democratic values.

When I chose Wisconsin for my home decades ago it was & still is for the progressive values that thrived here. Progressive public policy is now down but not out. You can make a real difference.

The ramifications for our country are dire. You can help right now with Democratic virtual phone banks: We are in this together.

(MSNBC uses conditional like “can” instead of “will” because they have to. I don’t. I tell you what will happen on April 4. We have been working for more than a decade trying to hold the line on the authoritarians. Our democracy hangs on the outcome April 4. I can’t 100% accurately tell you the outcome next Tuesday. When you help you will get us closer to the return of the progressive public policy values Wisconsin is known for. Thank you.)
