Join us and share your thoughts, projects, questions, and tips. Quilters here are at many different levels of skill. Beginners and non-quilters are welcome, too. We NEED diarists! Your diary can be elaborate and full of photos, a simple story of your own quilting history or that of someone you love, a discussion of a current project or a technique you're learning, new adventures... You could post quilt retreat-day recipes (things like crockpot meals, so food appears without much attention from you)… We could do show and tell or open thread, also, but either way, we need diarists to host. It is EASY if you're willing to take the chance. Diary Schedule 4/09/23 — OPEN 4/16/23 — OPEN 4/23/23 — OPEN 4/30/23 — OPEN Maci Maci Ready for a quick tour of my sewing room? I recently moved into a two bedroom condo. Surprisingly, this room is better suited than the sewing room at the old house. I finally got the sewing room/library/office organized. It’s taken me way too long. I have my fabric, notions, books, etc. in an organized space. Sadly, the old treadle Singer sewing machine & Roll top desk had to be donated. I didn't have room for them. Old Sewing room Have you recently had to organize, donate, give away or throw out stuff? What a headache. I had help from Maci, my quality control supervisor. Now, I have to work on the rest of the home. This may be the cleanest you’ll ever see it. I’m planning on using it soon with many sewing projects. Please feel free to share your projects. Sewing machine is in the table Mom and I made the Raggedy Ann & Andy when I was in High School. She embroidered the floral & quail picture above the lawyer’s book case. Yes, I still have my Holly Hobbie dolls. I guess they’re considered vintage. On the design board is a quilt I’m working on featuring my beloved German Shepherd Dog Zoe. It’s a detail from this image. She was the bestest girl. Still missed and loved. Zoe Fabric Closet Fabric Closet and Cutting Table Other side of the room I'm old school. I love my books and have the same stereo system from college. Yup, it isn’t wireless. Still enjoy relaxing and listening to vinyl records. I have my mom’s violin & case from grade school. Many items in this room that have a ton of sentimental value to me. I definitely am not a minimalist. The bargello quilt was a given to me from a dear friend. I’ll probably feature it and other quilts and projects in a future diary.
