The article is here and the headline is: Disney CEO Bob Iger rips Ron DeSantis over ‘anti-Florida’ retaliation As has been previously discussed here, Disney read the law and got around the forthcoming DeathSantis fascist takeover of governing the Disney local area. That got the tiny dictator angry and he called for an investigation of Disney’s smart legal maneuvering. Disney’s CEO spoke out and called Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ actions against The Walt Disney Co. retaliatory, “anti-business” and “anti-Florida.” …. “A year ago, the company took a position on pending Florida legislation,” Iger said, apparently referring to what critics called the “Don’t Say Gay” bill. “And while the company may have not handled the position that it took very well, a company has a right to freedom of speech just like individuals do.” He added: “The governor got very angry about the position Disney took and seems like he’s decided to retaliate against us, including the naming of a new board to oversee the property and the business. In effect, to seek to punish a company for its exercise of a constitutional right. And that just seems really wrong to me.” These statements were made in the Disney shareholder meeting — guaranteed to be covered by the financial media. Yup, cancel culture and the GQP, they own it. The article then spends a good deal of time speculating on how much of this is blustering by DeathSantis is really just his version of TFG campaigning version 2.0 [END] --- [1] Url: https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2023/4/3/2161914/-The-Mouse-Roars-Back-in-Florida Published and (C) by Daily Kos Content appears here under this condition or license: Site content may be used for any purpose without permission unless otherwise specified. via Magical.Fish Gopher News Feeds: gopher://magical.fish/1/feeds/news/dailykos/
