Follow the Blue Brick Road to Freedom [1]

There are forces who wish to take our democracy away. We saw this on January 6, 2021, and in Tennessee. Yesterday, we saw a GOP MAGA district judge believe he has the right to create nationwide anti-abortion law. A few years ago, we even heard a telephone call made by the GOP MAGA cult leader that threatened Ukraine’s sovereignty.

I’m glad to hear Vice-President Harris standing by the Tennessee 3 on the Blue Brick Road. But preserving freedom is not just the job of politicians. Preserving freedom is everyone’s job. But the forces of freedom will prevail if we follow the Blue Brick Road.

Let me tell you a story of an enslaved maiden who escaped imprisonment from Hades, by following the Blue Brick Road.

Persephone’s Escape From Hades by Edward Song with help from Chat GPT Persephone, fair maiden of spring, in Hades' grip, her fate does cling. Imprisoned in the underworld, her spirit weakens, her hope ebbs away. Persephone. She is cursed to be imprisoned in the underworld. But in a moment of daring, she sees her chance, A path to freedom, a glimmering dance. A blue brick road, winding through the dark, an escape from the underworld's stark. Goblins chase Persephone, as she flees from Hades' hold. Their claws and fangs, they sharpen keen, to snatch her from her mold. She runs, she twists, she turns and leaps, with all her might she tries to flee. But the goblins' grip, it always creeps, and their laughter echoes through the trees. Goblins in Hades. They chase after Persephone. Unbeknownst to the goblins, blue bricks bring strength to hearts of fleeing slaves. So, with every step, Persephone’s strength grows, her heart lightens, her spirit anew. As she nears the world above, and the light of day begins to shine, the goblins shriek and start to weave, as blue bricks burn their feet. Their doom is near. Their grip on her, it fades away, their laughter silences in the breeze. Persephone breaks free that day, as she rises from beneath the trees. The Blue Brick Road exit out of Hades. The goblins chase her with a rage, but the air of freedom dissipates their might. They vanish into harmless wind, as Persephone basks in the glorious light. Now she's free from Hades' grip, and the goblins that chased her through. Persephone takes another trip, and the world above is bright and new. The road led her out of Hades' grasp, and back to the world, her freedom at last. The blue brick road, a symbol of hope, for Persephone, a way to cope. Now free from her prison, she can reign, and bring forth the beauty of spring again. So let us remember Persephone's plight, and the blue brick road that led to her light. May it inspire us to never lose hope and find our own paths to freedom's scope.

The fight for freedom is everlasting. Those who follow the red brick road, want to take your reproductive rights away. They do not believe in freedom from want, and freedom from fear. They wish to silence the people who are “woke” and speak out against gun violence in our schools. Thus, the path to freedom, is to follow the Blue Brick Road.

To follow the blue brick road, participate in our democracy. Go out and vote, go out and protest measures that restrict our freedom. Get those who love freedom to also participate in our democracy.
