Haven’t really since the kids got old enough that Easter egg hunts didn’t excite them. I had my Cadbury egg for the year before Valentine’s Day — just happened to find one. As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care! IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news! ************************* Howard University has appointed Stacey Abrams to an Endowed Chair. How your beliefs shape your reality. Study of items recovered from shipwrecks has shown the origin of the metal used to cast a lot of the Benin bronzes. Figs. ************************* My sister mailed the quilt to me. I texted her when I opened the box: “The quilt arrived. WOW!!!!!” It is flame colors (including blue — I don’t know if she changed her mind about using blue or just thought my choice of fabric wouldn’t work) with a black background. It’s throw-size, and it’s beautiful. Have I mentioned that I got a jury summons a couple of weeks ago? I could have declined due to being 70 (my birthday being two days before the start date), but I decided not. The last summons I got was around twelve years ago, the fourth in about eight months. I had already done the first of the four, and the clerks in the court decided that maybe I had grounds to not want to that time. I didn’t expect it to be such a very long time before I got called again. My granddaughter spent a couple of days home sick this past week, and my grandson went for an overnight with one of his classmates on Friday. The pack he runs with is three girls and three boys. He went with one of the girls, so they could work on a project they’re doing together. ************************* Love you guys!
