There are news sources, or rumors at least coming out that barely speaker Kevin is losing cohesion with the leadership team of his hard fought for speakership….already. It seems that during the 15 votes to get his current position, you know, the period when he had to give who knows what to the 20 rebels in the house (20 out of a majority of something like 9), Rep Arrington tried to get a thing together to nominate Scalise to be the speaker instead of Kevin. Will that attempt was a total no go. However, it appears that there may be some derision being slung back and forth over the guarantee the speaker gave those 20 to avoid a default on the debt. He “guaranteed” that he would get the budget lower to save money….but then had to give up on going after Social Security and Medicare so that leaves them punting. Apparently, on March 31, he finally realizes that something needs to be done if he intends to come up with this magical budget—after all, there has been a period of negotiation between the House, the Senate and Biden. It seems that nothing in the works as far as plans from the House is beginning to make Kev a little nervous so word is out that he is trying to blame Scalise and Arrington, and implying that maybe, just maybe, they are being ineffective. I don’t know about you but I never have expected them to actually accomplish anything. They are too busy trying to get revenge for the fact that they got called on the Big Lie and the insurrection, so they want to punish the Democrats for catching them in the act But I would also wouldn’t mind a bit, if the House goes into uproar and they start attaching each other and yank the speakership from McCarthy or try anyway. I get some sick satisfaction when the anti-ordinary citizen Republicans start fighting each other. www.nytimes.com/...
