Easter dawn of a new day [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.', 'Backgroundurl Avatar_Large', 'Nickname', 'Joined', 'Created_At', 'Story Count', 'N_Stories', 'Comment Count', 'N_Comments', 'Popular Tags'] Date: 2023-04-09 Easter And an angel answered and said unto the women, “Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen.” Matthew 28:1-8 History is filled with great moments of transition. Moments when an era comes to an end and another begins. But all transitional periods are not periods of progress. There can and have been periods of retrogression. Of all the transitional periods of history none equals that which we celebrate today. Easter marks the dawn of a new day. The dark confusion of the Old Testament’s four thousand years of man’s search for God came to an end. This was the day that the prophets had foretold—this was the moment toward the religious history of man had marched . This was the moment of God being revealed in all His fullness. Yes, today we stand at the crossroad at a great moment of transition in a time of great darkness and violence across the land. Do we take on the armour of God? That we maybe protected against the darkness of this world? Do we stand in confidence at the dawn of a new day knowing God and fear cannot share the same space? And if Jesus is in us we shall not fear the darkness and violence and chaos across the land. Today is truly the dawn of a new day.
