Are you tired as I am of seeing so many Republicans on MSNBC? [1]

So I tuned into MSNBC at 5:45 and saw a panel including the following:

*Host Nicole Wallace — advisor to George W. Bush in 2004 when he failed to extend the assault weapons ban.

*Michael Steele — RNC Chair in 2010, when the Tea Party Republicans took over many state legislatures, enabling them to create supermajorities and unbalanced Congressional delegations.

Tim Miller — Republican operative who briefly served in the Trump administration.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m glad these people are on our side. Miller, in particular, has been repentant, as has Wallace to an extent. But Steele tries to pretend the Tea Party election was not racist — serious revisionist history.

There is no shortage of great Democrats who could appear, such as Markos (who apparently has a lifetime ban for mentioning Scarborough’s dead intern once). What about young people — David Hogg is on sometimes, but could be a regular

Does having Republicans on increase ratings? I don’t know. But I turn it off when Steele is on and and I bet more of us would watch more if actual progressives appeared more.

Again, I gladly welcome the Never Trump Republicans (though I wish more could bring themselves to become Democrats).

But it struck me that they played a role in creating the same crises they are covering —guns, gerrymandering, abortion and others.
