As widely expected, the Nashville Metropolitan Council just voted 36-0 to reappoint Justin Jones to the Tennessee House of Representatives, sending the ousted lawmaker back to occupy the House District 52 seat as an interim representative.

A side story about House speaker Sexton and the district he represents vs where he lives. Dishonesty is part of the GOP’s DNA.

Does anyone know when and where the vote for Justin Pearson’s reappointment will take place? The Shelby County Commission will meet on Wednesday to vote on the issue. Pearson won the seat uncontested in this very blue district.

Let’s make sure the republican party pays a heavy price for its fast-moving slide into fascism. Let’s all seize the moment and lend a hand to push the GOP and its sickness into the dustbin of history.
