Here is a closer look at the title photo (additional shot). I didn’t see the other creatures until I got home.

Above the right antenna of the butterfly is a Sweat Bee.

Specks of purple were hiding among green leaves. Some were even hidden beneath the grass.

Wild Violets

Sometimes a larger group of tiny flowers come together to show off. That was the case with these Fire Pinks.

I’m not sure what variety of Oakleaf Hydrangia this is, but it sure is healthy, as is the Loblolly Pine seedling next to it.

We are under two feet tall, but giants to our core.

There were insects that easily could be overlooked. This green beetle scampered quickly across the road.

Wild Blue Phlox like the edges of the woods and peaked out to greet me.

I was lucky enough to spot a dragonfly. This is an immature, male Blue Corporal Dragonfly. I learned a new thing from Walter Stanford photoblog about gender id. His link is here — waltersanford.wordpress.com/...

I think this is a Parson’s Spider. It was in too big a hurry to introduce itself. My guess, it was avoiding the White-throated Sparrows feeding nearby.

I took this video of the action along the woods edge of the Sparrows.

Last but not least is this. You can be what ever you choose during the Spring. Isn’t it exciting to be a potential new thing.

Like the flower bud above, this is a (soon to be) open thread.
