Pinellas school has no classes, no teachers and lots of freedom

Private or not...He will shut it down if they start talking about menstrual periods. I did not think I could get any more shocked over DeSantis and this legislature.

PALM HARBOR — At the Spring Valley School, three dozen students ages 5 to 18 are trusted to do what they want. There are no classes, grades or homework. There are no “teachers,” only “staff.” Students decide when it’s time to graduate. Democracy rules, and students’ voting power far outweighs that of the schools.

Are you kidding me? This is DeSantis’s Florida. What is wrong with these parents? Send them to school to play and out of their hair every day in the name of freedom? Who is babysitting these kids? Who is protecting them? What does the staff consist of? These kids are not safe.

George W...Is our children learning is not the question...How safe is our children for 7 hours a day with no teachers? No principal? My question is what school board approves or parents for this matter of this kind of stupidity.

I did not include the pic but it is in the link. My question, without a teacher, how do they learn anything?

Yes Viginia there is a moRON and he bestows freedom to be stupid and poor for you. While these kids are at it, since they can decide to graduate at 9, will they have to get a job or decide to roam the streets or be new members of the prison pipeline.

Wait until some of these 12 ir 13 year olds discover sex and find how what they want to study. This is an example of what he is trying to do away with public schools for? No oversight?
