The Voices are getting louder. There is not a cold civil war taking place in the US. It's on. Recent casualties in Kentucky, Tennessee, entire generations everywhere. We must act now.

Just saw this story in WaPo from today. So I will publish this diary. www.washingtonpost.com/…

We all love and respect Dianne Feinstein, one of the Senators from California. She will not be forgotten. But she has missed almost 60 votes on judicial nominees since she developed shingles, and each time she misses a vote we lose months if not years of progress.

Time is different nowadays. We have to stop playing nice. We must start rapidly and aggressively pushing back, while starting our own new push to make the judiciary, state legislatures, city councils, and school boards more representative of the needs and beliefs of all Americans, not just a tiny fraction of the extreme right that has been winning decisively in battles we all but ignored.

We can count on the ethically challenged billionaire fascists that hide behind the tenets of conservatism — well, at least they used to hide - to buy out and remove our rights with the eager participation of the their racist, misogynist base.

Can we count on the Democratic party to see that we are wasting precious time? Exactly when on the legislative calendar can any of this time be made up?
