Andy Biggs's two bills say it out loud: The Republican Congress is Trump's defense team [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.', 'Backgroundurl Avatar_Large', 'Nickname', 'Joined', 'Created_At', 'Story Count', 'N_Stories', 'Comment Count', 'N_Comments', 'Popular Tags'] Date: 2023-04-14 Don't do it, Ed! Don't do it, Dick! Your country will thank you! This piss-ant of a man has been stinking up democracy in Arizona since 1993, when Ed fucking McMahon handed over $10 million in sweepstakes winnings, which he used to finance a legislative seat and then a congressional easy chair, where he could shit all over people who weren’t fortunate enough to win a magazine contest. Rep. Andy Biggs, who probably identifies as a christian fascist, proudly, was named by Jan. 6 planner Ali Alexander as one of three congressmen who helped the insurrection, the other two being Alabama’s Mo Brooks and Arizona’s Paul Gosar. All were subpoenaed by the Jan. 6 Committee but did not show, and nothing happened to them. So up yours, Jim Jordan. I can’t think of a thing Biggs or Gosar have done to help everyday Arizonans. Mostly what I remember is them helping land devourers or hanging with Oath Keepers and the Bundy clan, jabbering about guns and freedom and Trump won and Hunter’s laptop and programs for the poor are too costly and scary Antifa and their religious liberties that allow them to hate on people. And socialism bad. You know, the base of the Republican Party. Now Biggs has introduced two bills, one for each of Trump’s butt cheeks—kissy! kissy! (Brain bleach aisle 5.) The first of Biggs’s We’re-Not-Even-Pretending-Here bills he calls the “No Federal Funds for Political Prosecutions Act.” This POS would prohibit local agencies from using federal aid to investigate or prosecute a president, vice president, or, conveniently, a presidential candidate. That was the shotgun approach—prohibition no matter where, Georgia or New York, or perhaps the six other states where crimes occurred, including Arizona, that sent fake elector certificates (it’s being investigated here). Biggs’s other protection package aims directly at DA Bragg; it might as well be called the “You Uppity Black Man, We’re Taking Your Money” bill. It’s even named for him, but the “Accountability for Lawless Violence In Our Neighborhoods Act” (ALVIN) has nothing to do with Biggs’s stupid name for his two pages of garbage. What it does is prohibit the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office from receiving any federal funds, and Bragg has to return all federal money he’s received since Jan. 1, 2022. Look out, Rep. Biggs! Here comes a truckload of sand that needs pounding, so get busy. His bozo bills are beyond transparent, a shining example of toadyism worthy of Jim Jordan that just might clear the House, but is going nowhere in the Senate nor anywhere near Biden’s desk. Andy Biggs represents a large chunk of southeast Maricopa County, which is a growing but still rural area that includes parts of Mesa, Chandler, and Gilbert. Given the shifting demographics of that district, becoming younger, more urban and more diverse, Biggs has to be vulnerable, given his hardline and increasingly unpopular positions on guns and abortion. His state and his district have serious water and education challenges—both are five-alarm fires. Yet Rep. Biggs apparently thinks voters sent him to Washington to serve as head cheerleader for Donald Trump’s congressional defense team.
