Imagine if George Soros Feted Elena Kagan on a Superyacht [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.', 'Backgroundurl Avatar_Large', 'Nickname', 'Joined', 'Created_At', 'Story Count', 'N_Stories', 'Comment Count', 'N_Comments', 'Popular Tags'] Date: 2023-04-14 Image courtesy Wikipedia, thank you. Of course such an exercise would require no imagination at all, the American journalism corps and its propaganda cousin Fox would instantly freak out with the constant framing of Judiciary in Crisis as they relentlessly, ruthlessly attacked Kagan and Soros. Eventually the incessant barrage of smashing criticism would yield the expected result, Kagan would resign and those libs got shown who owns the media environment in this country. This is completely known and repeated American journalism behavior, I last wrote about it when Nancy Pelosi’s husband was attacked by a right-wing American terrorist and the American journalism yawned, saw it was Friday and analyzed DOW results. Had that event been inflicted on a Republican Speaker the media fusillade of ripping liberal criticism would have been a month in duration and inflicted immense damage upon the liberal cause. I didn’t immediately see it this time, the enviably talented Jen Hayden of Daily Kos did on Twitter, but the observation and phenomena are important enough to amplify and repeat here. The American journalism corps is hopelessly skewed toward corporate conservatism and the Republican Party, they consistently amplify Republican memes and causes while ignoring Democrats and the little people. We can expect to see this American failure again, precisely because the criticism emanates from Daily Kos it’s simply ignored, what liberals say just doesn’t matter, the 2020 midterms were still about The Economy. Right? American journalism failure can be seen from another angle on this story, for the Supreme Court has been busted by the Republicans, packed with Catholic fanatics, while significant portions of the Judiciary are dangerously gone, the latest judicial evolution over the abortion pill an absolute fiasco and complete regression of American democratic values. I don’t see it as a takeover of American democracy, but I do see a significantly busted and crippled country, a quasi-democracy limping along and always held back from liberal progress by a tiny minority of semi-fascists (using the polite DC definition), Proud Boys on the prowl, chattering automatic weapons and screaming often faintly in the background. It’s happened on our watch for the American democracy, we’ve experienced regression and hard times before, but I still find it a wearying depressing burden that’s made me politically snappish and combative, god there must be something to be done, but there’s a socialite murder to cover every night for American journalism, those liberals and their democracy, never mind. At least I am spared the ordeal from the judicial writers I read, Joan McCarter, Ruth Marcus, Ian Millhiser and Dahlia Lithwick. The stories and legal events they cover are so stuffed with childish, stupid legal reasoning, these Catholic quacks and their goon 5th circuit cousins fall over themselves in such immature twists of dishonesty for their semi-fascist regression. I can hear and feel the anguish in their writing, not only for immense damage to the democracy and little people, but hey I was a good kid and great student, I went to college and worked my ass off, then by God actually got a career in my degree and got damn good at it too. It took immense study, maturity and diligence in the greatest democracy in the world, now I have to deal with these lying children on a professional daily basis as they so clumsily smash it apart. I have been in tough times in this life with some dark days, I’m not exactly thrilled with the results so far but have endured nothing like that. I am sorry. I will continue to watch the regression of the American judicial branch and its blithe ho-hum acceptance from the American journalism corps, Clarence Thomas will still be on the Supreme Court next year, just as I will still be in my little people American life, doing the best I can with small things, hoping for the best despite what has been lost.
