I want to direct everyone’s attention to this old story in the Hollywood reporter…

It was the last renewal between Comcast and Fox….

Renewals are generally for 3 years, as the prior one was in 2017…

With Fox collecting less from advertisers than a Salvation Army Santa with those red cauldrons, they need to get revenue from somewhere to pay those massive salaries that their evening propagandists receive. They do this by charging fees per subscriber to the cable companies that are the 2nd highest in the industry, after ESPN.

Note that no renewal has been publicized, which means that negotiations are likely still ongoing and the various lawsuits must be the sticking points.

The massive damages that Fox is going to be on the hook for likely mean that they have been demanding a huge fee increase on this batch of renewals, and Comcast is resisting.

If Comcast drops Fox (A girl can dream, can’t she?)… That might be the dam that finally breaks Fox, as other cable companies would use it as leverage to lower the fees they pay Fox, or drop them entirely.
