Bolly Pauses, to Think...



There was a place Bolly found during a heavy rain. A tuft of grassy earth along the banks of a stream, hanging over like melted cheese, leaving a dry place underneath. There was nothing to do for it, but wait out the storm. Where he wanted to settle in and rest his head, there was a rock. So he moved it. Then there was a kind of hole where the rock was, so he dug some dirt to fill it in. He wasn't sure what he had in his hand after digging just a little while -- but it was round and smooth, and not even the dirt could conceal from his touch an articulated XI. He paused, to think...
