Qin also said bilateral interdependence in the industrial chain is a result of economic globalization and the best choice under market rules. China-Germany trade has long accounted for 30 percent of the trade volume between China and Europe. A forced braking will be counterproductive and the losses would outweigh the gains, Qin said.

The combined EU Countries represent 20 percent of China’s export trade. So they should be taking China up on its offer to open up its economy and markets to win-win agreements.

In previous articles, China has repeatedly stated that it is prepared to open its markets and regulations to accommodate Western wants from their trade relations. These pledges made by Xi At the Opening Ceremony of the Fifth China International Import Expo, 4 November 2022 have appeared almost verbatim in article-after-article for the past six weeks or so. The countries who negotiate the hardest will get the best deals.
