The gators prevent predators like Raccoons from reaching the nests, and as payment the Gators get to snarf up any unfortunate hatchlings that fall into the water. It’s a bit late in the nesting season now, so most of the birdies have already flown the coop. The ones still here are the stragglers who got a late start. Some photos. For those who don't know, I live in a converted campervan and travel around the country, posting photo diaries of places that I visit. I am currently wintering in Florida.
