We are inching closer — and the closer it gets the more we will argue over how much ice is ice free. The basic facts are that: long term ice, is going away — so we talk about ice extent. If there’s a thin layer of ice, well there’s still time and still hope, and if we all come together and do _____ we avert the worst. It looks like 2023 — 2024 will not be a Blue Ocean event. Thats good news, but it’s like saying the train slowed down from 100mph to 80 so we will still have time before we roll off the cliff.
