He was very enthused about the current show, Art of Risk: The Innovative Sculpture of Michael Cooper. We hadn’t been to the main museum for years, and the art show was in a new venue next door. We met BankShot and Mrs. BankShot at the door, paid our admission, and we were just gobsmacked. These sculptures are so innovative and exciting. But most notable was the detailed craftsmanship, beyond anything I have ever seen. The artist has been doing this for half a century. I photographed many of the sculptures. The thing is, nothing could do the real work justice without being there and looking closely (but no touching). Laminated wood; about 4 feet long Incredible, even a working supercharger. This car has been driven. All wood, even the screws Easy rider Here we are. For more detail, the museum has provided more details of the show, including a Virtual Tour. This is well done, with the option of zooming in on the details of the sculptures. All my photos, and more.
