Ethics not required to serve on the Roberts court.

Clarence Thomas is an obvious crook who has no business being on the court. Amy Coney Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh wouldn’t have their slots except for hideous political machinations. John Roberts is overseeing the decline of a once decent institution and seems ok with that.

It’s past time to do something about the Supreme Court and Biden can. The President can expand the court if he wants. He should. He should at least threaten to.

Biden has said he won’t expand the court but, given the numerous emerging Thomas scandals, he should reconsider. He should at least threaten to. That alone would probably fix the Thomas problem. The other justices, fearing for their clout, would likely throw him under the bus and get him to resign.



Dick Durban won’t do anything more than wring his hands and issue sternly worded letters. John Roberts won’t or can’t do even that. Somebody has to do something. Biden can and he should.
