Air Force unit in (Texeira) leaks case loses intel mission [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.', 'Backgroundurl Avatar_Large', 'Nickname', 'Joined', 'Created_At', 'Story Count', 'N_Stories', 'Comment Count', 'N_Comments', 'Popular Tags'] Date: 2023-04-19 Drawing of Texeira in court This is a quick update on the recent Texeira document leak. The Seattle Times today has a story by the AP on the latest fallout from the classified documents Jack Texeira copied/”borrowed” and leaked on-line. The Cape Cod Air Force unit Texeira was working at has had its intelligence duties taken away from it and Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall has directed the Air Force Inspector General to look at the Air National Guard 102 Intelligence Wing stationed in Cape Code, MA and look at “anything associated with this leak that could have gone wrong” (nice use of the indefinite semi-passive voice there). The Air Force is also kicking off a service-wide review of how each command handles classified information, with reports to be handed over to Kendall within 45 days. The other military branches area also reviewing their classified material handling. I suspect a few career paths are going to be disrupted as a result of the fallout.
