Emily Busch is a Democrat running for Congress in Michigan’s 10th District.

On November 30, 2021, her son, Andrew, ran for his life from a school shooter. Andrew was in music class at Oxford High School that day when a 15-year-old with a gun opened fire on his classmates in the hallway, killing four and wounding seven. After such a horrific event in her own community, she knew she had to take action.

After every tragedy, communities are united in grief, but our leaders seem incapable of seeing past their own political calculations. Some, like John James, offer up thoughts and prayers – and then refuse to take action, instead continuing to fill their campaign coffers with money from the gun lobby. Washington fails over and over to end the threat of school shootings, which is why Emily is stepping up and running for Congress – to ensure Michigan and our nation have a leader who will take action.

Protecting public education. Passing common-sense gun safety measures. Preserving our environment. Safeguarding abortion rights. Our country can do these things, with the right leadership.

On November 30, 2021, Emily’s son ran for his life. Now, she’s running for Congress to protect kids like him. She’s not afraid to run on the toughest issues, and she won’t back down to the gun lobby.
