Working to Defeat Congressman Ah teh a la dah -- Apache for Congressman He Didn't Do Nothing [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.', 'Backgroundurl Avatar_Large', 'Nickname', 'Joined', 'Created_At', 'Story Count', 'N_Stories', 'Comment Count', 'N_Comments', 'Popular Tags'] Date: 2023-04-20 Congressman He Doesn't Do Anything is becoming the name for a congressman who lives 476 miles from Indian country while claiming to represent northeast Arizona's Navajos, Hopis and Apaches. Native Americans in northeast Arizona are struggling to overcome the aftermath of Covid and devastating storms without being actively represented in the U.S. House. It is 476 miles from Teec Nos Pos, in the far northeast corner of Arizona, to the home of the local congressman in Tucson. Tucson is not in the district, but the congressman does not bother to live in or close to the district, preferring to spout right-wing talking points from his home far to the south. Natives have begun to give the congressman a new name. Congressman Ga He Mu is Hopi for Congressman He Does Nothing. In Navajo, it is Congressman Adin, or Congressman Nothing. The Apache version is Congressman Ah teh a la dah, or Congressman He Didn’t Do Nothing. Natives, who had their own Congressman before 2023, are now living on a fief for an absent lord. Nearly six months after the election, the lord did visit Prescott, a city actually in the district, but still far from the many Natives living on vast reservations. He promised to try to get some pork for small white-dominated towns near Prescott. The Northeast Arizona district helped Democrats control the House for years. If we take this district back in the 2024 election, we will have control of the U.S. House. Natives are working hard to oust Congressman Ga He Mu, but they could use your help. Dawnafe Whitesinger’s radio show reaches tens of thousands of Navajos, Hopis and Apaches through radio stations KTNN and KNNB. If you would like to help get the show on the air, please donate at secure.actblue.com/... . or send a check to Native Arizona Victory Fund, c/o Eric Kramer, 1910 Douglas Fir Dr., Pinetop, AZ 85935 Here are some links to past shows nativearizonavictoryfund.com or www.buzzsprout.com/... . When Natives started to understand that they had the power to influence elections, Democrats started winning in Arizona. If you would contribute to secure.actblue.com/... we could get on the radio on the vast reservations to continue to reach voters who have elected Joe Biden, Sen. Mark Kelly (twice), along with placing Democrats as governor, secretary of state and attorney general in Arizona.
