We begin with ABC News:

'Extinct' lion spotted in Chad's Sena Oura National Park after almost 20 years Lions were thought to be extinct in Chad's Sena Oura National Park -- until now. By Morgan Winsor LONDON -- A lion has been spotted in Chad's Sena Oura National Park for the first time in almost two decades. A team of conservationists from the Chadian government and the New York City-based nonprofit Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) released an image on Thursday showing what they described as "a beautiful lioness, in her prime and clearly in great health." The photo was taken on Feb. 22 by a camera trap in Chad's Sena Oura National Park, where lions haven't been seen since 2004, according to the WCS.

Hoard of 1,000-year-old Viking coins unearthed in Denmark Artefacts believed to date back to 980s found by girl metal-detecting in cornfield last autumn Nearly 300 silver coins believed to be more than 1,000 years old have been discovered near a Viking fortress site in north-west Denmark, a museum has said. The trove – lying in two spots not far apart – was unearthed by a girl who was metal-detecting in a cornfield last autumn.

In Canada, A Bear Breaks Into A Car And Guzzles 69 Cans Of Soda After entering a house's compound, a bear got inside a car and drank more than 60 soda cans. A Canadian woman on British Columbia's Sunshine Coast woke up in the night listening to the barking of her pet dog to check the situation and the reason behind the barking, and what she found was completely unexpected. Someone had opened her car's door, but it was not a human but a bear who was looking for something to drink and eat.

Video: Climber's Incredible Rescue Of Indian Anurag Maloo From Crevasse A day after it was announced that Indian climber Anurag Maloo, who went missing while descending Nepal's Mount Annapurna last week, has been found alive, a dramatic video of the rescue operation has emerged on social media.
