I found it because right wingers are saying it means Bud Light “caved” to their boycott or whatever they are doing: Bud Light exec takes leave… Alissa Heinerscheid, Bud Light’s vice president of marketing, will be replaced by Todd Allen, most recently global vice president of Budweiser, according to reports from Beer Business Daily and Ad Age. A spokesperson for Bud Light’s parent company, Anheuser-Busch InBev, on Saturday did not directly confirm the leave of absence but said Allen as vice president of Bud Light will report directly to Benoit Garbe, U.S. chief marketing officer. The company also made streamlining changes so that its most senior marketers are more closely connected to all of its brand activities. The partnership between the blue-emblazoned beer brand and Dylan Mulvaney, who has more than 10.8 million followers on social media, hit the internet on April 1. That’s when Mulvaney posted a video on Instagram showing herself cracking open a can of Bud Light, one with the hashtag #budlightpartner. Companies have broadened efforts to attract customers and employees across racial, cultural and other lines as the country continues to diversify. In many cases, their own shareholders have pushed them to become more inclusive in hopes of improved returns. ...Well! I finally went to Instagram, and found Dylan Mulvaney's little video from April 1st. It is kinda funny and I like it. It links to an Instagram page called #budlightpartner. There I see MANY little videos, and they all appear to be made by young people, with Bud Light cans shown. I don't see any rednecks, sport jocks, old guys, NASCAR, kid rock dudes, etc. etc. So Bud Light has apparently been trying to appeal to younger people in general, not just trans persons like Dylan Mulvaney. The anti-trans comments appeared on Mulvaney's video right after it was put on Instagram (3w ago). Then, two weeks ago (2w), somebody put the contact information for the Bud Light people that supposedly were just put on leave of absence. OK. ...Here’s the deal… Note above it says Dylan Mulvaney has 10.8 million followers. Also note that Fox News has only 2.2 million primetime viewers. So… 1. The leaves of absence are PROBABLY so these persons can get away from harassment and death threats, and so that higher ups can manage the PR with maximum expertise until the campaign of hate fades. It will also be interpreted by the haters as a victory, so they will start to chill out and shut up and move on to their next targets. This is good for Budweiser, and for everybody. Who cares if the haters see it as a victory? They are asses anyway. 2. Bud Light is not going to decline, and it is not going to stop trying to broaden the marketing, especially to younger, less bigoted people. The two numbers I just mentioned are why I say this.
