I think an important point that is being missed in the discussions of the recent shootings of Ralph Yarl, Kaylin Gillis, Payton Washington and others is what were they wearing when they were shot?

I think that this is a very valid and pertinent question. Were they dressed in a particularly threatening manner? Were they somehow asking to be shot?

I mean if we can ask the question of what someone was wearing when they were raped, then it would follow that we should also ask what a shooting victim was wearing when shot. If the women were in effect “asking for it”, then maybe the shooting victims were “asking for it” as well.

I’m surprised that Republicans and their gun loving constituents have not raised this provocative question yet. To me it would seem to be an entirely relevant question as the circumstances and results follow a similar pattern.

Maybe they just haven’t thought of it yet. Sometimes their brains are slower than their trigger fingers.
