As has been pointed out by many the 14th Amendment, Section 4: The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred or payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned. The actions of the GOP representatives in congress would seem to be unconstitutional and a direct violation of the oath taken by them when they are sworn in: I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God. Standing to sue. Seems to that as a retired individual who depends on Social Security for a good chunk of my income I could sue. Also it looks like any member or ex-member of the military, police, FBI, CIA.. could sue. Your thoughts?
