Hiya venthooligans, how was your weekend?

We’re experiencing the return of sunshine. It still feels a bit odd and unfamiliar to see blue sky. It’s still quite windy. But oh the flowers! After all the rain California is busting out all over in bloom. And pollen. Oy veh, the pollen. I fear the future is one big sinus headache. Still, sneeziness and all, I had some fun this weekend, beach with a pal and dinner with d.d. Friday, stayed home vegetating Saturday, listened to all kinds of stringed instruments at a mandolin festival Sunday. My friend Dave played with his little group of friends and sounded great. My favorite thing, I have to say, was some musicians who had lived in Palau playing Palauian language love songs set to traditional Japanese tunes played in twangy tones.
