Hit Fox "News" in the Pocketbook [1]

For years I’ve despised Fox “News” and its destructive effect on my country. I don’t need to list its negative actions that have influenced so many Americans to become MAGA Republicans and believe its absurd conspiracy theories. I’m sure Daily Kos readers are aware of these already. I have felt helpless while observing the disintegration of democracy and my rights that Fox “News” has created. I am delighted that Tucker Carlson has been fired, but his removal will not remove the lies continued to be “reported” by Fox “News.”

I just had an idea that may help decrease the negative influence of Fox “News.” I gave feedback to my TV provider, YouTubeTV, asking for a bundle of channels that does not include Fox “News.” I informed them that I will discontinue my subscription if it continues to support Fox “News.” My lone action is unlikely to have any effect, but if thousands of progressives join in boycotting Fox “News,” it would reduce the channel’s profits, its only priority,

Most Americans subscribe to cable TV or a streaming company. If we join forces to demand that our monthly subscription fees do not include payment for Fox “News,” hopefully we can force our TV providers to offer us a package that does not make us contribute to Fox “News.”

I can only hope.
