Poll numbers are useless this far out but here I go writing about them [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.', 'Backgroundurl Avatar_Large', 'Nickname', 'Joined', 'Created_At', 'Story Count', 'N_Stories', 'Comment Count', 'N_Comments', 'Popular Tags'] Date: 2023-04-25 So I know regular readers of this site know not to put too much stock in polls this early out from the 2024 election. Coincidentally, on the same day that Biden announced his re-election bid, NBC News dropped a new poll that found: ”The survey shows Biden trailing a generic Republican among registered voters, 41% of whom said they were likely to vote for him, compared to 47% for the GOP candidate.” www.nbcnews.com/… Link to actual poll results: www.documentcloud.org/… To put it in some perspective, I searched for Obama versus a generic Republican poll back in 2011. This is what I found: “Registered voters by a significant margin now say they are more likely to vote for the "Republican Party's candidate for president" than for President Barack Obama in the 2012 election, 47% to 39%.” news.gallup.com/… Insert rote language that “between now and the election day is a lifetime in political terms” but also remember that polls this far out are pretty useless and are click bait for political junkies, myself included as is evidenced by me writing this up.
