OutFoxed? Secret Plot to Shut Up former Mouthpiece Tucker Carlson revealed? [1]

"To Confuse and to Deceive" would perfectly fit as the new slogan for the "Most Watched, Most Trusted news channel".

Before I begin, I would like to apologize for the headline sounding like it was copied from the New York Post or the Daily Caller, but I felt that, in this case, it was appropriate for the following story.

When the news broke on Monday that Fox News had parted ways with its star anchor Tucker Carlson, the conservative world was truly shocked. To this day, it is not entirely clear what the actual reason was for the dismissal of their populist poster boy, but rumor has it that the decision was made by Rupert Murdoch himself, and it can be assumed that the dismissal is closely related to the $787.5 million settlement that Fox reached with Dominion to resolve their ongoing legal dispute. Claims that this was a secret clause in the settlement agreement are most likely to be false, but since this is not the only legal battle that Fox is currently facing, a connection with one of these cases is not unfounded. Carlson has not yet commented on his dismissal, but it has been reported that he has hired Bryan Freedman as his attorney, known for being an aggressive litigator who has secured multi-million settlements for several TV stars.

Rolling Stone magazine reported today that Fox may have assembled a secret dossier containing damaging information about the outspoken propagandist, who isn't exactly known for keeping his opinions about anything under wraps. Responsible for this is allegedly Fox Media's Vice President of Communications, Irena Briganti, who is known for her aggressive enforcement of the network's media strategy since the time of Roger Ailes.

In this case “Senior Executive Vice President Corporate Communications” is just another way to say flack.

The file includes internal complaints regarding workplace conduct, disparaging comments about management and colleagues, and allegations that the now-former primetime host created a toxic work environment, three of the sources say.

Although the content of the dossier should not hurt Tucker's career - on the contrary, it will only endear him even more with his supporters - it would nevertheless be interesting to know the details.

Interestingly, Fox News is also currently in a legal battle with a former employee of Carlson's who accuses him of exactly this type of behavior. How devious must an employer be to collect these accusations as leverage against its own employees, rather than addressing claims of a poisoned work environment and holding the culprits accountable immediately?

The contents of this article must have prompted Abby Grossberg's lawyers to pop open a bottle of champagne, as this file would be unequivocal evidence that their client is telling the truth. Perhaps this has also caught the attention of Smartmatic's lawyers for their own defamation lawsuit and they will devise a strategy on how to compel Briganti (interestingly, her last name translated from Italian to English means "brigand" in plural) to sit for a sworn deposition, asking her exactly about those opposition files she allegedly helped to assemble.

If it turns out that Fox systematically tried to keep departed employees from telling the truth about their former employer by collecting negative material to silence them, a new wave of lawsuits could wash over the network, ultimately leading to the company's financial bleeding dry. Class-action lawsuits from disgruntled shareholders would probably then be the final nail in the coffin of the media giant.

I'm slowly starting to think I really need to stock up on my popcorn supplies.
