The city has two very powerful museums: the Legacy Museum and the Rosa Parks Museum. Alas, both are “no photos”. :( So here are some other photos from a day spent walking around in Montgomery. For those who don't know, I live in a converted campervan and travel around the country, posting photo diaries of places that I visit. I am currently in Alabama. The city has dozens of historical markers. You could spend days just reading them all. State Capitol Building Protesting gun violence The Legacy Museum. “From Enslavement to Mass Incarceration”. A wonderful museum. The Dexter Baptist Church where Rev Martin Luther King Jr was pastor Civil Rights Memorial First White House of the Confederacy. Confederate President Jefferson Davis lived here until the Confederate capitol was moved to Richmond VA in 1861. The Murphy House. Built by a cotton trader in 1854, it served as the Union Army HQ when Montgomery was captured in April 1865.
