Sen. Schumer. Debate Kevhead's stupid Debt Bill !! [1]

...and do it in PRIME TIME !!

The House Debt Bill is a DISASTER; please don’t waste the opportunity to show American Voters just how much IT is bad for Americans, and conjointly, demonstrate to American Voters what and who today’s GOP does & doesn’t stand for. This also offers a strategic opportunity.

Let’s look at an easy example; this bill screws Vets. Bring Vets in to sound off on how this bill would cause them tremendous harm. We aren’t funding Vets well enough, Now! and the GOP wants to cut That Funding by 22%? Better, tie THAT in with how we narrowly the PACT act passed as there was no help from GOP-ers and ask why the GOP ‘say’ they support the Vets but always act against them.

Then, take aim in how the IRS provision is CLEARLY the GOP protecting Billionaires. Personally, I think Billionaires should pay MORE than me, but heck, I’ll settle (for now), that they pay the same as me. I draw the line when they pay 1/10th of what I do (and guess what; so do most Americans). Use debate and witnesses to make Biden’s case for fairness in taxation (‘cause I’m sick of the “IRS agents at the front door” GOP ads that are BS). Make it SO OBVIOUS to American Voters why we need IRS enhancements. Tax Fairness is a strong majority issue and THIS is the moment to make that case.

Also, schedule time to show the progress that POTUS has Already Had reducing the Deficit and contrast that with Trump’s unbelievable ballooning of the Deficit & Debt (and use charts and graphs, please! ...something that Tweets well).

There are So Many More items in this House Bill that deserve the spotlight of primetime Senate Witnesses & Debate so American Voters can see that Kevhead & his cronies are NOT negotiating in good faith. And while you’re at it, please mention the House GOP passed their bill in stealth, abrogating the very rules they ‘pledged’, months ago. Conversely, this Senate Debate can claim full transparency.

And the final beauty of a public, primetime debate is the strategic angle. First, by debating, you take away the GOP argument (echoed by MSM) that the DEMS don’t want to talk. Second, by (obviously) voting the bill down (at the end of the process), DEMS get to wipe the slate clean. Kevhead can’t go out and Tweet, “Well, WE’VE passed a Debt Bill and the Dems won’t do anything with it”. I know, that’s stupid, but wouldn’t it be better to be able to say, “There is no Debt Bill; we rejected it.” (and all the better if smart GOP Senators voted against it, as well)?

Frankly, Senator, I’m tired of DEMS dodging the fast balls. This House Bill is a fat pitch over the middle of the plate. Hit.It.Out.Of.The.Park!

p.s. — I didn’t know where to put this, but WTF was Kevhead thinking that this bill ONLY extends the debt to March, 2024? He really thinks DEMS are going to do this dance again before the 2024 Election? That’s just ANOTHER Reason that this bill is a farce.
