I haven’t seen any specific polls on the issue, but it seems clear that the Ukrainian. public wouldn’t be in the mood to quit if the next year brought equal amounts of recovered territory as the period April 1, 2022 — April 1, 2023, at the cost of equal losses in casualties and infrastructure.

OTOH, aside from other losses in men and equipment, Russia lost roughly half of the still-operational tanks it had at the beginning of that period which had been produced in the last half century by the end. With equal armor losses in the next year, Russia would find itself unable to fight a modern battle. The call for a peace soon is a call for the Russin army to be saved from the consequences of this invasion while there is still a modern Russian army.
