Nasty Big Pointy Teeth

“Cartoon Corner” began last July. Twenty eight episodes were planned. One every other week plus two specials. One year. The specials were to be Women’s Day and April First. As it approached, I took a good long look at the cartoons chosen for Women’s Day. Given the state of things at the time I decided to keep them to myself.

Having come across two related cartoons by Harry Bliss and Paul Noth the special was switched to 4/20. Let me tell you, finding 23 more cartoons that were funny to people not stoned out of their gourd was not easy. What do you mean there were 33? No. Wait, 23 - 33, that doesn’t even make sense, you can’t have negative 10 cartoons. You’re messing with me.

After my “only one in ten people survive that kind of” heart attack “Cartoon Corner” got stepped up to every week and its ratings collapsed. I never expected the early ratings. I was star struck so when the recs plunged I considered stopping but neither I nor my heart are quitters, not for long anyway. There will be ten more “Cartoon Corners” after this one.

It’s Thursday.
