Dear FELLOW atheists,

If you have been being a jerk, please knock it off. Suppose you read “My being a Christians makes me feel MORE rage toward [MT Greene or whoevs].” Please do not respond to that person, “Your Sky Bully doesn’t exist.” Just move on.

Please stop saying things that imply all believers share responsibility for what the theocrats do and say. People are responsible for what each of us does and says; not what people who aren’t us have done or said. Especially when they’re fighting against the theocrats.

Yes, we are a small (but growing!) minority in this country. But we don’t need to run around with chips on our shoulders over it. And it certainly isn’t rational or reality-based to accuse individuals of things they have never said, done, or agreed with. You don’t have the EVIDENCE that the believers here are theocrats, misogynists, or whatever.

Most believers on this site are aware that not everyone shares their beliefs. It’s silly to waste your time chiming in with your lack of belief. It’s not going to magically de-convert them. It does nothing to forward whatever specific cause is under discussion.

OK, as an atheist, I have done my duty, talking to MY side of these “wars.” Believers! Agnostics! Step up and talk to your side. No statements that presuppose that everyone thinks supernatural things are real. No claims that those convinced no supernatural beings are real are identical to those who think there’s at least one real supernatural being.
